From the "Me neither" file.

Senator Debbie Stabenow, D-MI…
If 15 million people without jobs is not an emergency, I don’t know what is.
Me neither, Senator.

Her extended remarks are recommended. Her critique of Republican obstructionism as electoral strategy seems right on target to me.

We have to find the reason there are no jobs. When the problem began and then correct the problem. In that order. LOL

The acronymn "LOL," which should be banned from use on the Internet, is mucho inappropriate when talking about jobs, or the loss thereof, in Michigan - and elsewhere in the States.

The problem is that the loss of jobs is more complex than anyone of either so-called major parties wants to admit. Companies such as Microsoft would rather build institutions in India, than offer OJT (on the job training) to people in the States. Companies such as GM put all their eggs in the Sport Ute basket while eliminating their electric car, the EV-1; in fact, the General crushed almost all of the EV-1s, save for a few that ended up in the Peterson Museum, down in Los Angeles.

John McCain told the sorry ass truth, during the Michigan primary in 2008, when he said, "A lot of those jobs aren't coming back." For his honesty - in that one instance - he lost to Mitt Romney; who promised a new day for the American auto industry.

For the sake of the country, let's hope we can create some new jobs in the private sector. Right now, the spike in the economy is riding on those census jobs that folks such as yours truly had, earlier this year.

In a shameless plug for my own chances, please look at my blog, Automatter at Typepad.com. Google will show you the way.

Soon enough all we aging Boomers will just be blogging full time, about whatever interests we know and can educate others concerning. 60 may be the new 50, but tell that to the average HR person, about 30 years your junior.
