As usual…

What Digby said
Those who extol the virtues of divided government take heed. There won't just be legislative gridlock. There will be chaos.

Chaos becomes especially possible when the country is still teetering towards an economic depression.

Imagine if you will (as Rod Serling used to say), what happens to America if the Senate decides not to extend unemployment comp - now approved by the U.S. House - after the Memorial Day break. Admittedly, extending unemployment comp is a lousy way to run a country, but it beats the alternative of having people on the streets or holding up convenience stores to feed their families.

What would be better? How about some company paid training and then OJT (on the job training) such as Boeing used to provide during the late 1960s.

If the current president would get on Microsoft's case about that, then those of us who voted for him, might feel our vote wasn't wasted. President Obama could ask Steve Ballmer, direct in a phone call, "Hey, why do you spending money over in India, then asking my immigration people for special consideration for your trainees (to come into the States); when about 15 percent of America needs good jobs or retraining? Answer me that!"

Hell, I'd literally pay for the president to make that call. But somehow, I feel my money is safe.
